My name is Scott Marler and I currently work and live in Sacramento, California and its surrounding cities. I am available for weddings, senior portraits, engagement sessions, special events, model portfolios, or just a good old fashion photo shoot.
I believe in pushing the limits of the imagination and making things very nontraditional. I love discovering new ways to take pictures and my favorite thing is for someone to look at a photo I have taken and go "how did you do that?"
I specialize in the darker and eerie side of capturing light. Taking photos that give some people the creeps is what I am really about. That is not to say however that I don't also enjoy photographing a beautiful cityscape or magnificent sunrise. I am very flexible in all I do. My overall style is definitely photo journalistic. I like to let people do what they do, and then let me time out the perfect shot.
All photos taken for myself are untouched, straight from the camera unless otherwise noted. I believe in getting my photos right the first time and that taking a picture and later correcting all of its flaws, highly distorts a photographers true ability. I will use Photoshop if working for a client, however if working for myself, I am post-processing free.
